Anneliese Fenzl
Anneliese Fenzl
The woman of the first hour – she co-founded the company in 1945 and was involved with great dedication throughout her life.
Her area of responsibility from the very beginning was the commercial sector of the company. Everything was in her hands: sales, accounting, customer service, marketing, apprentice training, payroll accounting.
In the post-war years, it was still common to also work in the manufacturing sector: locksmith and assembly work were just as much part of her repertoire as managing the employees.
Until 1981, Anneliese Fenzl was the only woman in a leadership position in the company. It was an outstanding achievement at the time to assert herself in the male-dominated aviation industry.
Of course, it was beneficial that she was close to the pulse of aviation: right after the war, she began gliding, first in Aigen and Kufstein (in Austria), and later in Bavaria. She learned to glide on the Schulgleiter SG38, a very airy affair!
Up until well past her 70th birthday, she could be found daily at the company TOST, helping us manage the increasing administrative work. Anneliese Fenzl was our great role model: leading with a firm hand and a big heart, always keeping people in mind, forward-thinking, responsible, reliable, disciplined, and diligent, in short: she was an honorable businesswoman.
