Anneliese Fenzl

The woman of the very first hour! She co-founded the company in 1945 and remained involved throughout her entire life with great passion and commitment.

From the very beginning, her responsibility lay in the commercial side of the business. Everything was in her hands: sales, accounting, customer relations, marketing, apprentice training and payroll.

In the post-war years, it was still taken for granted that one would also lend a hand in the technical trades: metalwork and assembly were just as much part of her repertoire as the care and supervision of the workforce.

Until 1981, Anneliese Fenzl was the only woman in a management position within the company. At the time, it was an outstanding achievement to hold her own in the male-dominated aviation industry.

She naturally benefited from being closely connected to the world of aviation: immediately after the war, she took up gliding – first in Aigen and Kufstein in Austria, and later in Bavaria. She learned to fly gliders on a primary training glider – quite an airy undertaking!
